Knee pain that has stopped responding to the usual answers.

If you have been managing knee pain with injections, anti-inflammatories, and physical therapy—and the relief keeps getting shorter—a regenerative evaluation is a way to find out honestly whether there is another option before knee replacement becomes the only conversation on the table.

Does this sound familiar?

Who tends to
call us.

You might recognize yourself here

  • Knee discomfort changes how you use stairs, stand from a chair, exercise, work, or sleep
  • Stiffness or reduced confidence in movement has begun narrowing your routine
  • Relief from therapy, medication, or injections has been incomplete or has not lasted
  • You have imaging or a surgical recommendation and want to understand the full picture before deciding

What we are not

Soma is not an urgent-care or emergency service. A sudden injury, inability to bear weight, marked swelling, fever, or a hot and red joint needs prompt medical attention. If an orthopedic or surgical evaluation is the more appropriate next step, we will tell you.

How the evaluation works

An evaluation first—not a program.

For knees, we review any X-ray or MRI you already have. If your imaging is old or you have never had any, your provider will explain what may be worth getting and why—we would rather look first than guess.

  1. An in-clinic provider evaluation. History, examination, a review of your imaging, and a conversation about your goals—all at our Sandy clinic.
  2. Comprehensive blood work. Ordered before any plan is finalized, because inflammation and metabolic health help shape what is reasonable to attempt.
  3. Image-guided delivery. When a procedure is part of the plan, it is performed under ultrasound or fluoroscopic guidance as standard—not as an add-on.
  4. Supportive therapeutic modalities. In-clinic therapies and appropriate at-home support are selected for your plan rather than sold as disconnected extras.
  5. Personalized nutrition and supplement guidance. Support for the parts of recovery that happen between visits to our clinic.
  6. Scheduled follow-up visits. Built into the plan at purposeful intervals so progress can be reviewed and next steps can be adjusted.

Your evaluation

Understand the full picture.
Then build the right plan.

An assessment helps determine what is known, what still needs clarification, and whether Soma is an appropriate setting for your next step.

  1. Your history, goals, and previous care
  2. A focused clinical and movement assessment
  3. Relevant records or imaging when appropriate

Common questions

Useful answers.
Without overpromising.

Is this a knee replacement alternative?

It is not a replacement for surgery, and we will not describe it that way. For some people, regenerative care may be a reasonable option to consider first; for others, the honest answer is that surgery is the better option, and we will say so during your evaluation.

Will insurance cover it?

Soma’s regenerative services are elective and self-pay, and they are generally not covered by insurance. We explain the anticipated cost before care begins. Please ask our team about current payment or financing options.

Does knee pain automatically make me a candidate?

No. The cause, severity, health history, prior care, goals, risks, and reasonable alternatives all shape whether any Soma service is appropriate.

Do you promise to rebuild cartilage?

No. We do not promise cartilage regrowth, reversal of arthritis, avoidance of surgery, or any specific outcome.
